We asked, you voted. The results of our poll on who you think will win state titles in each of the seven divisions plus 8-Player.

Division 1:  In an upset, it wasn't defending state champion Muskego that received the most votes, instead last year's runner-up Kimberly garnered the most fan votes, with 629 of 1,761 votes cast.

Division 2:  Last year's state finals participants, champion Homestead and runner-up Brookfield Central got strong support, but it was actually Waunakee who led the way with 423 of 1,553 votes.

Division 3:  Defending champion Catholic Memorial dominated the voting with 785 of 1,487 votes cast.

Division 4:  Edgerton fans rallied to the team's cause, giving the Crimson Tide a significant advantage in the votes with 537 of 1,768 cast.

Division 5:  Not surprisingly, defending champion Saint Mary's Springs picked up the most votes, with 585 out of 1,365.

Division 6:  The most balanced voting of any division, five different teams got at least 180 votes, but it was Lancaster who received the most, with 285 out of 1,446.

Division 7:  As has been the case the last few years, Bangor, Black Hawk, and Edgar dominated the voting, and it was the Edgar Wildcats who picked up the most votes, 387 out of 1,286.

8-Man: Last year's first-ever 8-Player state champion Sevastopol finished fifth in the voting, as Newman Catholic picked up the most support with 249 out of 1,000 votes cast.

Thanks to all who participated, and in just over 3 months we'll find out if you were right!

Vote for who you think will win Football State Championships

Happy football everyone! Teams have begun practice around the state, with every group sharing a similar goal:  hoist a gold ball as state champion.

As the season gets underway, it's time for you, the fans, to vote for who you think will win state titles in each of the WIAA's seven divisions plus 8-Player Football. The top ten in each division (sorted alphabetically) of the WisSports.net Off-Season Rankings are included, but those certainly aren't the only ones that could, or will, win championships. If you think it will be someone off the list, sound off in the comments below. We'll leave the voting open through Friday at noon.
