Week 2 Prep Props: State's Top Performances

PREP PROPS - WEEK 2

Prep Props is our weekly look at the best individual statistical performances in the state, with the leaders in rushing yards, passing yards, and receiving yards. Prep Props is published every Monday morning.

Week 2 Rushing Leaders

Grafton is off to a 2-0 start after defeating West Bend East 40-27 on Friday night. The Blackhawks trailed in the third quarter before senior running back Joey Giorgi took over. He scored four touchdowns over the final quarter and a half, as the team was able to hold off the Suns. He finished the game with 30 carries for 344 yards and five touchdowns, with three of those scores coming in the final quarter. He added five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown through the air as well.

Week 2 Passing Leaders

Despite posting the top passing performance in Week 2 in the state, Mishicot would fall to Random Lake 51-28 in a Big East Conference game. In the loss, quarterback Kolton Tesarik completed 18-of-28 passes for 400 yards with four touchdowns.

Week 2 Receiving Leaders

It was quite the offensive explosion between Eau Claire Memorial and La Crosse Central on Thursday night, as some of the state's top playmakers put up huge numbers as Memorial came away with a 62-44 victory. While the Old Abes came away with the win, it was another big night for the Davis twins of La Crosse Central. Johnny had more than 300 passing yards with three touchdowns, and most of that production went to his brother Jordan, who hauled in 13 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns.
