As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Fond du Lac (2-0, 1-0; D1 #3) at Kimberly (2-0, 2-0; D1 #2) -- Friday, 7 pm

These teams played a pair of titanic match-ups last year, including one of the biggest games the state has seen in the last few seasons when Fond du Lac ended Kimberly's 70-game winning streak in Week 1. In a state semi-final game, Kimberly got its revenge, winning 22-21 in overtime on a walk-off two-point conversion. The teams are among the state's elites once again, and like last year, this may not be the only matchup between the teams this year, with a playoff game a distinct possibility. Fond du Lac has faced the tougher schedule so far this year, getting past a tough Franklin team in Week 1 before a running clock victory against Stevens Point last week. It is an impressive start for a team that had to replace virtually all of the key performers on both sides of the ball from a year ago. Kimberly had some struggles before putting away Oshkosh West in Week 1 but hammered Wisconsin Rapids last week. Sophomore quarterback Caden Pendleton has done a very nice job for the Papermakers, but like many players on both squads, this will be his first action in such a huge matchup.
