Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of September 23 through September 29. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Kora Malecek, Onalaska girls cross country: The Onalaska girls cross country team headed to Waverly, Iowa to take part in the Steve Johnson Invite this past weekend, where they ran to a first place team finish. Kora took home an overall first place finish and it was in dominating fashion. Her time of 17 minutes 31.5 seconds broke the course record and also was good enough to finish 70 seconds better than the second place finisher.

Cora Behnke, Oconto girls volleyball: Cora was incredible as she helped the Oconto girls volleyball team to a win at the West De Pere Invite over the weekend. Over the five matches, Cora had 37 kills, 35 digs, 10 aces, and two blocks to fuel her team to a first place finish. Earlier in the week, she had 20 digs and 14 kills as Oconto swept Sturgeon Bay 3-0 in a Packerland Conference matchup.

Justin Swanson, Johnson Creek football: Justin has been instrumental to Johnson Creek starting the year off 6-0 and a sitting at seventh in the Division 7 Coaches Poll rankings. His legs and arm fueled the team to a 33-19 win over Fall River/Rio this past Friday. The senior quarterback did most of his damage on the ground, rushing 18 times for 249 yards and four touchdowns. He added 82 yards through the air, including a passing touchdown.

Tyler Duesing, Burlington boys volleyball: Tyler was great as Burlington went 5-1 over the weekend to capture gold in the Shorewood Tournament. Tyler led the team with 53 kills and added 29 digs throughout the six matches, leading Burlington to back-to-back years of winning the Shorewood Tournament.

Landon Krause, Kimberly boys volleyball: Top ranked Kimberly went a perfect 6-0 and took home gold at the Middleton Invite over the weekend. Landon was phenomenal leading his team. He recorded 56 kills, 21 digs, and 14 aces for the Papermakers. Landon helped lead Kimberly to wins over fourth-ranked Marquette, and second-ranked Germantown along the way.
