Top-ranked Oconomowoc made it two straight weekend tournament championships as the Raccoons ran the table at the historically prestigious Lynn LaPorte Sprawl in West Bend this past Saturday. River Falls held on at No. 3 after breezing through its Border Battle Tournament slate. Appleton North’s fourth place finish overall at the Sprawl lifted the Lightning back into the top five at No. 4, while Burlington’s sixth place finish held the Demons at No. 5 in Week 5.

Division 2

Lake Country Lutheran battled Lakeside Lutheran at its home tournament this past weekend and its three-set thriller pushed the Lightning back into the No. 1 spot in Week 5.  Lakeside Lutheran, which also held off sectional, Capitol Conference, and crosstown rival Lake Mills in another five-setter last Tuesday, and fell to No. 2 this week. Platteville keeps taking care of business in the southwest portion of the state to hold on at No. 3, while Wisconsin Lutheran and Edgewood also held on to their spots within the top five.

Howards Grove’s impressive season resume continued with a Lake Country Lutheran tournament championship Saturday, defeating D2 heavyweights Lakeside Lutheran and the host Lightning. Waterloo held on at No. 2, while Aquinas, Stratford, and Grantsburg also fell in line among the top five for the second straight week. Only Stratford traveled over the weekend, with the Tigers taking home the Abbotsford Tournament championship to improve to 28-3 overall.

The Warriors, this week’s new No. 1 team in Division 4, and likely No. 1 for the first time in school history, will take their unblemished record to nearby Clayton in hopes to remain perfect in Central Lakeland play. Columbus Catholic bumped up one spot to No. 4 this week, while Royall re-entered the top five at No. 5 in Week 5.
