NCAA Division II programs in the Midwest and beyond have taken a liking to the boys' basketball talent in the state of Wisconsin.

No less than 60 former high school basketball standouts from Wisconsin are currently listed on the rosters of Division II programs across the United States.

The most prevalent among all NCAA Division II conferences in recruiting the Badger State is the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, which includes many programs from Minnesota.

A total of 30 players from the state are listed on Northern Sun rosters, including a league-best eight at Minnesota-Duluth.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference is next in line with 15 thanks to the recruiting efforts of Michigan Tech (six players), Northern Michigan (five players) and UW-Parkside (four players).

With Parkside the lone NCAA Division II program in the state, look for the trend of out-of-state coaches offering scholarships to Wisconsin kids to continue in the future.

In fact, four players from the 2020 class already have committed to Division II programs -- Malik Abdul-Wahid of Brookfield Central to Winona State, Nick Brown of Elkhorn to Parkside, Jake Buchanan of Kimberly to Rockhurst and Isaac Soumis of Thorp to Southwest Minnesota State.

Following is a list of high school players from Wisconsin currently playing at the Division II level. If you know of more, please email me at wbnews@yahoo.com and I will those players to the list.
