The Wilmot Panthers have been selected as the Week 7 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team handed Burlington its first loss of the year on a late touchdown with just seconds to go. The Panthers were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 7. A total of 8,015 votes were cast, as Wilmot's 3,048 votes edged Sheboygan North's 2,884 votes.

Wilmot was in quite a battle with previously undefeated Burlington Friday night, as the teams traded scores the whole way, with neither leading by more than a single touchdown. After Wilmot went up 28-21 on the first play of the fourth quarter, Burlington scored two touchdowns in a span of three minutes, though the Demons would miss the second extra point. Trailing 34-28 late in the game, Wilmot quarterback Zack Watson found Joseph Tanski from three yards out with just 18 seconds remaining. Wilmot would make the extra point to secure a 35-34 victory. Watson threw three touchdowns, adding 163 yards and a score on the ground.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 8 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
