The Racine Case Eagles have been selected as the Week 8 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team knocked off Racine Park to claim the unofficial city title for the first time in more than three decades. The Eagles were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 8. A total of 9,236 votes were cast, as Racine Case's 3,136 votes edged River Falls' 2,826 votes.

Racine Case had one of the biggest days in program history, beating Racine Park 13-6 in a slugfest. It gave Case wins over both Park and Horlick, as they claim the unofficial Racine city title for the first time since 1987 and just the fifth time ever. The win also puts them just one victory short of guaranteeing their first playoff appearance since 1997. Even if they do lose in Week 9 to Kenosha Indian Trail, the Eagle stand a very good chance of ending that lengthy playoff drought. Against Park, Jamil Lacy returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, and Myles Guyton would score less than two minutes later. The offense went cold after that, but the defense limited Park to just one, third-quarter score and the Eagles held on for the win.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 9 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
