Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of October 14 through 20. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Oct. 14-20

Jordan Schifano, Divine Savior Holy Angels girls tennis: Jordan came into last weekend's WIAA Individual Tennis Tournament hoping to improve upon her fourth place finish last season. She was 29-1 this year and had secured the number one seed in the Division 1 field. She won her first four matches of the tournament, dropping only one set along the way. Jordan faced off with third-seeded, Badger's Zaya Iderzul in the championship, taking home gold with with a final of 6-2, 5-6, 7-5.

Baluck Deang, Edgewood girls tennis: Like Jordan, Baluck came into the 2019 WIAA Tournament hoping to finish better than fourth place, which she achieved last year. She came in with a 29-4 record and was seeded second in the Division 2 field. She swept her way to the championship where she faced off with number 1 seed Sarah Gesner of The Prairie School. Baluck came away with a win and a first place finish with a score of 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4.

Dalton Feddick, Abbotsford football: Dalton was unstoppable on the ground as he led the Abbotsford football team to a 50-19 win over Athens. He finished with 241 yards on 16 carries, scoring four touchdowns along the way. Dalton averaged an incredible 15.1 yards per rush. His performance all year led Abbotsford to a 7-0 conference record, taking home a Cloverwood Conference championship.

Charlie McKinney, West Salem boys cross country: Charlie blew away the competition this weekend at the Coulee Conference cross country championships. He ran the championship course in 16 minutes, 35.4 seconds. Charlie's time was good enough to finish over 20 seconds better than the second place finisher. Charlie's first place finish helped West Salem to a first place standing at conference meet.

Emily Herzberg, Melrose-Mindoro girls volleyball: Emily was outstanding this past week, especially as Melrose-Mindoro faced off with fellow Dairyland unbeaten Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran on Tuesday. Melrose-Mindoro won 3-2 as Emily had 34 kills, 13 digs, eight blocks, and six serving aces. She followed that up with 20 kills, 11 digs, and three aces and block in a 3-0 win over Blair-Taylor. With those performances, Emily topped 500 kills on the year and brings her close to achieving 1,500 in her high school career.
