Coleman lost 13-8 to Bonduel in a non-conference game to open the season. The Cougars would get their revenge in the playoffs, going on the road and shutting out the Bears 40-0. It was the fourth consecutive shutout for Coleman, who has allowed just 14 points in its last seven games. Cayden Bintz completed six-of-seven passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns, while the rushing game totaled more than 200 yards. Coleman will take on Manawa in Level 2.

D.C. Everest managed to sneak into the playoffs with a 4-4 conference record, and the Evergreens raced out to a 27-0 lead on third-seeded Appleton East to open the postseason. Up 41-13 at halftime, Everest would have to hold on by the seat of its pants, as East scored four, second-half touchdowns, but it wasn't enough, as D.C. Everest held on for a 47-41 victory. Delton Zuleger rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns, while Orion Boe would add three touchdowns as well for the victorious Evergreens, who take on Appleton North in Level 2.

Monroe showed they could beat good teams during the regular season, handing Badger-South co-champ Milton its only loss of the year. But the Cheesemakers struggled with consistency, finishing just 5-4. Despite giving up more than 500 yards to Onalaska, Monroe held on for a 31-30 win, stopping a late two-point conversion attempt that would have put the Hilltoppers ahead. Monroe's ground game was dominant, with 54 carries for 311 yards, led by 157 yards from Trevor Rodebaugh. Quarterback Max Golembiewski threw a pair of touchdowns, while Nick Bansley ran for a couple.

Spencer/Columbus Catholic dropped the first two games of the year and finished just 5-4 in the regular season after getting to the state semi-finals a year ago. They did not beat a playoff team during the regular season, but they did last week, rallying from a 12-6 halftime deficit to down Heart O'North Conference team Bloomer, 20-12. The defense limited Bloomer to just 95 rushing yards, while the offense controlled the clock on the ground, rolling up 61 hard-fought carries for 232 yards and a score. As a result, Spencer/Columbus Catholic led Bloomer in offensive plays, 65-34.

Winneconne dropped three in a row late in the season, including a couple blowouts, and it caused the Wolves to go from ranked in the WSN Coaches Poll mid-season to a seven-seed. Bringing up some memories of the Cinderella run to a title in 2013, Winneconne went on the road and beat second-seeded Sheboygan Falls 22-14. The running game struggled, but quarterback Harrison Roubidoux overcame a couple interceptions to throw for 254 yards and a touchdown. The Wolves meet up with Berlin in Level 2 for a second time. It wasn't much of a contest just a few weeks ago, as Berlin was up 46-0 before Winneconne scored in the last couple minutes of a running clock game.
