Kaukauna senior Vanessa Uitenbroek has been selected as the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week after a vote on WSN. 

There were 4,159 total votes this week. Vanessa received 1,295 votes and Lake Mill's John Wilke finished just behind in second place with 1,266 votes.

Vanessa was a great assist to her Kaukauna volleyball teammates as they took home a regional championship last week. In a 3-0 sweep of Green Bay Southwest, Vanessa had 23 assists to lead the Ghosts into a regional final matchup with Appleton East. In the thrilling 3-2 win over East, Vanessa had 47 assists and eight digs to capture the regional championship.

Vanessa and the fourth seeded Kaukauna Ghosts square off with top seeded Appleton North in sectional semi-final action tonight. They are looking to make their first state appearance since 2010.
