The Hartford Orioles have been selected as the Level 2 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored a second straight playoff shutout in holding down Holmen's vaunted rushing attack. The Orioles were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Level 2. A total of 5,997 votes were cast, as Hartford's 2,580 votes edged Superior's 1,434 votes.

Top-seeded Hartford remained undefeated and posted a second straight postseason shutout in a 26-0 victory over Holmen last Friday in a Division 2 playoff game. Just a week after Holmen rolled up 353 rushing yards against Watertown, Hartford's defense limited the Vikings to just 24 yards on 29 carries. The Orioles also picked off a Holmen pass and did not allow a completion in eight attempts. The passing game struggled a bit for Hartford in the elements, but the rushing attack cranked out 236 yards and three touchdowns on 43 attempts. A.J. Pepin did most of the damage, going for 181 yards and all three rushing scores.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
