WIAC Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

Ethan Bublitz, Senior (Jackson, Wis./Kettle Moraine), Guard of UW-Stevens Point

Bublitz averaged 26.5 points per game and went a perfect 22-for-22 from the free throw line to lead the Pointers to a pair of wins at the Christopher Newport (Va.) Invitational. On Nov. 30, he racked up a career-high 28 points and made all 18 free throws in a 70-69 comeback win over Wilmington College (Ohio). His and-one with 2.9 seconds left helped the Pointers erase a 19-point deficit. On Dec. 1, Bublitz poured in 25 more points to lead all scorers as the Pointers knocked off No. 11-ranked Christopher Newport 61-58. He added seven rebounds, four steals, four assists and a block over the two wins. Bublitz added a game-high 17 points in a 69-53 victory at UW-Superior on Nov. 26. His totals against the Yellowjackets included five rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Leah Porath, Junior (New London, Wis.), Guard of UW-Oshkosh

Porath averaged 24 points and 8 rebounds during UW-Oshkosh victories of 85-42 over Alma College (Mich.) on Nov. 25 and 88-45 over Lawrence University (Wis.) on Dec. 1. Porath compiled 48 points in the two games by shooting 60.6 percent (20-33) from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line. She made 4-of-8 (50 percent) three-point shots, while totaling 16 rebounds (14 defensive), two assists and two steals. In UW-Oshkosh’s road win over Alma College, Porath scored a career-best 29 points with eight rebounds, two assists and one steal. Porath shot 12-of-19 from the field, 3-of-5 behind the three-point arc and 2-of-2 at the free throw line during her 33 minutes of action. In the Titans’ home win over Lawrence University, Porath compiled 19 points and eight rebounds during her 25 minutes of activity. She shot 8-of-14 from the field, 1-of-3 behind the 3-point line and 2-of-2 at the free throw stripe.
