Here are the Wisconsin Sports Network weekly award winners in boys' basketball for the games played December 8 through December 14:

Player of the Week

Wes Peplinski

Wes Peplinski, 6-3, Jr., G, Pacelli
After playing secondary roles for Pacelli the past two seasons, Peplinski has stepped into the limelight during his junior campaign. The skilled 6-foot-3 wing prospect put together outstanding back-to-back games for the Cardinals. In a 78-56 triumph over previously unbeaten Pittsville, Peplinski made 9 of 13 shots from the floor and 6 of 7 from three-point range on the way to scoring a career-high 36 points. He also hauled down 13 rebounds in the contest. Two days later in La Crosse, Peplinski went for 27 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals in a 70-56 win over Columbus Catholic in the La Crosse Diocese Showcase event at Aquinas High School. The victory marked Pacelli's first win over Columbus Catholic since the 1999-00 season and improved its overall record against the Dons to 66-48. Peplinski is averaging 24.5 points and 13.2 rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the  floor (28 of 47) and 50 percent from three-point range (12 of 24) for the 4-0 Cardinals.

Team of the Week

Hunter Wright

Auburndale Apaches
The Apaches exacted a bit of revenge last week, beating long-time rival Columbus Catholic and Marawood South Conference rival Marathon. Auburndale snapped a four-game losing streak to Columbus Catholic with a resounding 72-48 triumph in Marshfield last Monday. Junior guard Hunter Wright (5-11) had 32 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists while senior guard Cooper Weinfurter (6-0) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Last Friday against visiting Marathon, Auburndale recorded a 71-62 victory over the program that has knocked the Apaches out of the WIAA Division 4 playoffs at the sectional semifinal level in each of the past two seasons. Wright and Weinfurter each scored 20 points while senior Cody Trowbridge (6-0) added 10. Auburndale takes a 5-0 record into its league matchup against Edgar this week.

Coach of the Week

Jesse Shaw, Sheboygan South
Now in his second season as the head coach at Sheboygan South after a long stint at Antigo, Jesse Shaw is creeping toward 200 career victories and has the Redwings off to a 3-0 start. Shaw needs just two more triumphs to reach 200 for his career and he might get there this week as Sheboygan South hosts Manitowoc Lincoln Tuesday before traveling across town to play at Sheboygan North Saturday in a pair of Fox River Classic Conference contests. Last week, Shaw hooked up with his brother, Pulaski coach Dave Shaw, and came out on top of a 41-38 rock fight. Senior guard Josh Govek (5-11), who is averaging 20.3 ppg for the Redwings, led the way with 11 points.
