Week 1 WisSports.net Boys Basketball Coaches Poll

Division 1

Sussex Hamilton remains the strong favorite atop the Division 1 Coaches Poll this week, with fellow Greater Metro Conference squad Brookfield Central in the number two position. Some minor shuffling in the top five finds Kimberly sliding one spot ahead of Madison East for the fourth spot. Arrowhead suffered its first loss of the year and dropped from sixth to ninth, while Madison La Follette pulled into a tie for tenth with Racine Case.

Division 2

La Crosse Central is a near unanimous top selection in Division 2, with the only other top vote going to Mississippi Valley Conference rival Onalaska, who is up one spot to second this week. Kaukauna had been second but the Galloping Ghosts went down for the first time last Tuesday against Hortonville, dropping them to fifth. Hortonville moves up from sixth to third with a 6-0 start. Stoughton fell a couple spot to sixth this week, while North Shore Conference teams Cedarburg and Whitefish Bay drop out after losses. In are Pewaukee and Seymour.

Division 3

Racine St. Catherine's dominated the voting for the number one position in the WisSports.net Division 3 Boys Basketball Coaches Poll once again. East Troy remains second, but former number three Saint John's Northwest Military Academy lost two games last week to fall to 3-3 overall and sixth in the rankings. Metro Classic teams Dominican and Martin Luther are into the poll this week, as the league has three teams ranked in Division 3 plus another in Division 5.

Division 4

It was close once again, but Cuba City remains the top team in Division 3, with Milwaukee Academy of Science nipping at its heels. The top six is unchanged this week, but there was a good amount of movement in the bottom portion of the rankings. Mineral Point, Marathon, and Roncalli all drop out after losses, with Auburndale, Regis, and Iola-Scandinavia in.

Division 5

Defending state champion Sheboygan Lutheran is again the top-ranked team in the state, and this week the Crusaders really solidified their vote advantage. Much like Division 4, the top six teams are unchanged with significant movement at the bottom. Rib Lake, Athens, and Hustisford all fall out of the Coaches Poll, allowing Monticello and Almond-Bancraft, both 6-0, along with 3-1 Luck to join the party.
