MEN’S BASKETBALL

Quentin Shields, Junior (Chicago, Ill./Brooks College Prep Academy), Guard of UW-Platteville

Shields led the Pioneers with 21 points in their 65-54 win over Bethel University (Minn.) on Dec. 14. He added four rebounds and three assists in the contests. Shields shot 38.1 percent (8-of-21) from the field and 40 percent (3-of-5) on three-point attempts.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Becky Raeder, Senior (Sheboygan Falls, Wis.), Guard of UW-Whitewater

Raeder tied a career high with 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range, in the No. 23-ranked Warhawks’ 68-55 victory over Carroll University (Wis.) at Kachel Gymnasium on Dec. 10. She added four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the 35-minute effort, which helped UW-Whitewater extend its current win streak to four games.
