Here are the Wisconsin Sports Network weekly award winners in boys' basketball for the games played Jan. 13 through January 18:

Player of the Week

Ben Nau

Ben Nau, 6-2, Jr., G, Brookfield Central
Nau turned in three strong performances as the Lancers enjoyed a 3-0 week with two important victories in the Greater Metro Conference along with a non-league win in the annual Luke Homan Classic. Nau scored 16 points, had 4 rebounds and dished out 4 assists in an 80-60 win over Milwaukee Marquette on Jan. 14. He made both of his three-point attempts in the contest. Last Friday in a matchup of state powerhouse programs, Nau went off for 27 points and 6 rebounds in a 64-56 triumph over Sussex Hamilton, which entered the game ranked No. 1 in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll for WIAA Division 1 schools. He drilled 6-of-9 tries from outside the arc. In the Luke Homan Classic held at Brookfield Central, Nau scored 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and handed out 6 assists in a 76-69 verdict over Wisconsin Lutheran. A 6-foot-2 wing guard with deep shooting range and the ability to create off the dribble, Nau is averaging 12.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists for Brookfield Central, which is 10-1 overall and 6-0 in league play under coach Dan Wandrey. The NCAA Division I prospect is shooting 47 percent from three-point range (22 of 47) on the season.

Team of the Week

Peter Gustafson

Monticello Ponies
Things have turned in a positive way for the Ponies, who take a 12-0 record into Tuesday's non-league game against Dodgeville. After winning just 16 games and losing 75 in a four-year period from 2014-18, Monticello went 13-11 in 2018-19 and is one win away from matching their victory total for all of last season. Coach Mark Olson, now in his 11th season as the head coach at the Six Rivers Conference school, relies heavily on three experienced players -- seniors Reece Rufer (6-3) and Simon Blohwiak (5-10) along with junior Peter Gustafson (6-3). Gustafson leads Monticello in scoring at 23.6 points per game and scored a career-high 39 points in a recent triumph over Brodhead. Rufer is contributing 18.6 ppg while Blohwiak adds 9.7 ppg. Monticello went 6-0 during its first round of games in the Eastern Division of the Six Rivers and starts round two this week with a contest against Argyle. The Ponies are aiming for their first league title since the 2010-11 campaign when they shared the Six Rivers East title with Barneveld.

Coach of the Week

Kevin Bruggink, Oostburg
Now in his 22nd season as the head coach at Oostburg, Bruggink recently surpassed 400 victories during his tenure at the tradition-rich Big East Conference school. He has won 403 and lost just 123 at Oostburg for a winning percentage of 77 percent. And counting his record at his previous stop, Howards Grove, Bruggink now owns a 452-179 overall record (72 percent). His Oostburg Flying Dutchmen are off to a 10-0 start and face a big week ahead with games against Sheboygan Falls, Cedar Grove and Howards Grove. Also the superintendent of the Oostburg School District, Bruggink's teams are known for playing strong defense, playing together, being exceptionally well prepared for opponents, and representing the school and community in a first-class manner.
