Below are the PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of February 17 through 23. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

PlayInTheDells.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Feb. 17-23

Hattie Verstegen, Fond du Lac girls hockey: Hattie has been incredible all season for the Fondy girls hockey team. This past week the WIAA playoffs began and Hattie was a key reason why Fond du Lac downed Beaver Dam 6-0. She accounted for half of the team's goals, scoring two goals and assisting on another. On the year, Hattie is third in goals scored and tenth in total points.

Madison Zimmer, Clear Lake girls basketball: Clear Lake has gone an undefeated 21-0 on the regular season and sits ranked second in the Division 5 poll. They matched up with Division 3, seventh-ranked, and undefeated Saint Croix Falls this past week. Clear Lake gave them their only loss by a score of 46-39. Madison led the way with 25 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. 

Truman teDuits, Edgewood boys swimming: Truman cleaned up this past weekend at the WIAA Boys Swimming and Diving State Championship. He won two individual titles and was a part of two winning relays as Edgewood repeated as Division 2 champs. In the 100-yard butterfly, Truman tied the Division 2 State Meet record with a time of 49:52. He then won the 200-yard individual medley for the second straight year in 1:50:03. He then was part of the 200 medley relay that set the Division 2 State Meet record and took home gold for the second year in a row with a time of 1:33:77. Lastly, he helped the 400 freestyle relay team to its second consecutive title in 3:08:79.

Riley Jelinek, Sauk Prairie boys hockey: Sauk Prairie picked up a pair of playoff victories this past week behind the impressive play of Riley. He started the week with two goals and two assists in a 10-2 win over Madison La Follette/East. Riley then added another two goals and one assist in a 5-1 win over Madison West. On the regular season, Riley had 36 goals and 49 assists. His 85 total points were tops in the state according to Wisconsin Prep Hockey.

Carter Gilmore, Arrowhead boys basketball: Carter has been nothing short of phenomenal this season for the third-ranked Arrowhead boys team. Last week he dominated in three separate wins. First in a 91-70 win over Wisconsin Lutheran, Carter had 33 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. He filled the stat sheet in an 81-79 win over Waukesha West, tallying 29 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and four blocks. His biggest shot came as time expired as Carter nailed a game-winning pull up jumper to win it. To end the week, Carter had 30 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists, and five blocks in an 81-68 win over Marquette.
