Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Shooter Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The finalists for the top senior shooter award have been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. 

Bridget Froehlke, Wrightstown: Froehlke, a 5-foot-9 point guard, has connected on a state-best 110 three-pointers, while shooting 38.7 percent. The NCAA Division I University of Kansas City-Missouri signee is averaging 19.8 points, state-high 7.2 assists, and 2.3 steals per game for the Tigers, 22-2 overall. Froehlke has career totals of 1,391 points, 277 three-pointers and 501 assists. Wrightstown plays Freedom in a Division 3 sectional semifinal tonight at Kimberly High School. 

McKenzie Johnson, Bay Port: Johnson, a 5-foot-5 guard, is shooting 72-for-149 from behind the arc for the Pirates, the 48.3 percent from 3-point land is the highest percentage in Division 1. Johnson averages 13.8 points per game for Bay Port, 22-2 overall. She has over 900 career points and helped the Pirates capture the Division 1 state title as a junior. Bay Port plays Stevens Point at D.C. Everest High School tonight in a sectional semifinal. 

Natalie Leuzinger, Black Hawk: Leuzinger, a 5-foot-9 guard, has connected on 35 of her 86 three-points this season. The Wisconsin walk-on is averaging 16.2 points, 5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.4 steals per game for the undefeated Warriors, 24-0 and riding a 52-game winning streak. Leuzinger is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,762 points and has made 175 three-pointers in her career. She helped lead Black Hawk to the Division 5 state title last season. Black Hawk meets Fall River in a D5 sectional semifinal tonight at Evansville High School. 

Jada Spence, Pius XI Catholic: Spence, a 6-foot forward, is shooting 56-for-134 (41.8%) from behind the arc this season. The NCAA Division I Tennessee State signee is averages a team-high 14.4 points, to go along with 6.6 rebounds per game for the Lady Popes, 21-3 overall. Spence has 817 career points heading into tonight's D2 sectional semifinal against Milwaukee School of Languages at Brown Deer High School. 

Taylor Theusch, Aquinas: Theusch, a 5-foot-7 guard, has made 72 of her 163 three-pointers, for an average of 44.2 percent for the Blugolds. The Minnesota State signee is averaging 14.6 points and 2.1 steals per contest for Aquinas, 22-1 overall. Theusch has helped the Blugolds to back-to-back Division 4 state titles, and a state-runner up finish so far in her career. She has career totals of 1,159 points and 267 three-pointers. Aquinas plays Mineral Point in a D4 sectional semifinal tonight at Baraboo High School.
