Madison Memorial's Leilani Kapinus has been selected as the top senior Wing as part of the WSN Basketball Awards

Kapinus, a first-team WBCA all-state selection, has elite athleticism and can score at all three levels. She is also very strong on the defensive end of the floor with her ability to guard all five positions.

The 5-foot-11 Penn State signee averaged 18 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 4.5 steals and 2.2 blocks per game for coach Marques Flowers and the Spartans.

Madison Memorial reached a Division 1 sectional final before falling to Middleton, last year's D1 state runner-up, 61-58.

Kapinus finished her career with 1,229 points and over 600 rebounds despite missing nearly all of her junior season with an ACL injury.

Finalists for the award were Kapinus, Leah Earnest of Stevens Point, Emily Herzberg of Melrose-Mindoro, Anna Mortag of Brookfield Central, and Olivia Sobczak of Oconomowoc.

Past winners of the award include McKenna Warnock of Monona Grove (2019), Hailey Oskey of Seymour (2018), Estella Moschkau of Edgewood (2017), Abby Gerrits of Pewaukee (2016), Arike Ogunbowale (2015), Maya Jonas of Whitefish Bay (2014), Samantha Terry of Baraboo (2013), and Brittney Fair of Nicolet (2012).

WSN Senior Basketball Awards are selected by WisSports.net staff.
