Blair-Taylor's Randy Storlie moved into the top ten on the all-time boys basketball wins list in Wisconsin

The abrupt end of the 2019-20 boys basketball season is in the rearview mirror, which means it is time to update the boys basketball coaching wins list record book.

Of the top 39 coaches in state history, eight of them were active in 2019-20.

Of course, the state's winningest coach continues on, as Cuba City head man Jerry Petitgoue extended his career record to 962-256, including a few years at now-defunct Gratiot High School. The sudden end of the season also brought an end to the Cubans' perfect record to that point, as the team was a favorite to take home the fourth gold ball for Petitgoue.

Seymour's Jon Murphy moves into fourth place, joining elite company with more than 600 career victories, moving his record to 615-193 after the Thunder finished 23-2. He's now 31 wins behind Sheboygan North's Tom Desotell for third place, and 46 victories behind second-place Bob Letsch of Racine St. Catherine's.

Jim Gosz moved up a couple spots in the top ten as Dominican finished 20-4, moving his career record to 596-133. Most of that came during his time at Milwaukee King.

Randy Storlie is now ninth in state history with 583 victories at Taylor High School and now the combined Blair-Taylor. Like Cuba City and Coach Petitgoue, Storlie's Wildcats were still alive at the time the tournament was canceled.

Racine Lutheran's Jeff Christensen (512 wins, tie for 23rd), Seneca's David Boland (507 wins, 29th), Westby's Bob Constalie (469 wins, 37th), Oostburg's Kevin Bruggink (464-182, 39th) are also active coaches in 2019-20 who make the list. Constalie, who also coached at La Farge, has indicated he will not return next season.

Records only include varsity wins at Wisconsin high schools as a boys' basketball coach.
