Turner had lost to Clinton twice in the regular season during Rock Valley play before the teams met in a Division 3 regional final.

The Trojans avenged those losses with a big comeback win over Clinton, capped by a three-pointer by senior Jenn Njoo with four seconds to play to give Clinton the 43-41 victory and its first regional title since 1982.

Turner trailed 18-11 at the break and 35-22 with 7:30 remaining, before making the improbable comeback.

Junior Olivia Tinder hit a pair of free throws to get the Trojans within one point at 41-40 with 1:22 left.

Clinton senior Liz Kalk, who finsihed with 10 points, picked up her fifth foul prior to Tinder hitting the free throws.

Turner got the ball back with 9.4 seconds left and junior Sabrina Fitzgerald found Njoo on the left wing and her 24-footer gave the Trojans its first lead of the game and sent them to sectional play.

Tinder finished with a game-high 15 points, including going 10-for-14 from the free throw line, and added seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Njoo tallied nine points on 3-for-10 shooting (all from behind the arc) and will never forget the 24-footer from the left wing that sent them to sectional play for the first time in 38 years.

Senior Marlee Young added nine points and six rebounds in the victory for the Trojans.

Clinton got a team-high 12 points from freshman Jayden Nortier.

Turner's season ended in a Division 3 sectional semifinal, falling to Martin Luther, 62-46, to end its season with a 15-10 record.
