The Division 1 sectional semifinal between Kimberly and Green Bay Preble needed overtime to decide the winner.
Kimberly scored the final five points of regulation to tie the game at 48 and force overtime.
The Papermakers went a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line in overtime and defeated Green Bay Preble, 62-55.
Kimberly held a 21-19 halftime lead and led the majority of the second half. Green Bay Preble took a 44-43 lead with 1:21 left and had a five-point lead in the final minute before Kimberly stormed back to tie it to force overtime.
Junior Maddy Schreiber (6-0) finished with a game-high 24 points. The UW-Green Bay commit shot 10-for-15 from the floor and went 3-for-4 from the free throw line in the victory.
Fellow junior Brooke Ellestad contributed 15 points for the Papermakers. She went 3-for-4 from the floor and made all eight of her free throw attempts, while also adding four steals and two assists.
Another key performer was senior Marissa Murray, who tallied nine points and a team-high five steals for coach Troy Cullen and the Papermakers.
Kimberly finished with 16 steals in the contest and turned it over 13 times, compared to 27 turnovers for Green Bay Preble.
The Hornets were led by junior Carley Duffney, a 5-foot-11 South Dakota commit, who finished with 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Senior Kendall Renard, a 6-foot-3 UW-Green Bay signee, and junior Ella Bialkowski each netted nine points for coach Jim Doell and the Hornets (20-5 overall).
Kimberly finished their year with a 20-5 record. The Papermakers fell to defending Division 1 state champion Bay Port, 56-34, in a sectional final.
