How has not being able to play this spring impacted you? "Not being able to play spring sports has been really difficult because I haven’t had a time in my life where I wasn’t able to play a sport. Almost my whole life I’ve been a three-sport athlete or I have been constantly running around the country playing softball. It has been weird not being able to practice or play with my team that I’ve been with for three years now. It has made me really sad because spring has always been dedicated to softball and this year has been so much different."

What do you miss about not being able to play this spring? "I really miss my team. I miss hitting home runs and getting the thrill of running around the bases and watching the ball go over the fence. I miss getting to see my dad sit behind home plate on his bucket. I wish I had one more chance to go out there and help put Seymour on the map."

What have you done to stay active? "I go on a lot of bike rides. I play catch with my younger sister, maybe a little more like fetch. I hit at the park with my dad and I have spent a lot of time going to state parks."

Most Memorable Moment from spring sports? "My favorite sports moment was in the 2019 State Championship game. I hit a homerun on Goodman Diamond on my 18th birthday. My sisters finally got to come to my game and almost my whole family was there to watch. It has been a dream of mine to not only play at state but to play at state on my birthday. State always falls around my birthday so I’ve always hoped to be able to play on one of them. I also always dreamed of winning at Goodman and that is what we did. The rush of excitement from the whole crowd was so overwhelming it brought me to tears while running around the bases. The Seymour community is so welcoming and they made me feel at home when I first went there, but that day was something special for not only me and my team, but for the community."
