As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Menasha (Preseason D3 #5) at West De Pere (Preseason D3 #2) -- Friday, 7 pm

These teams battled for the Bay Conference title since Menasha moved in after the 2013 season. West De Pere was a machine in dominating the regular season, going a perfect 9-0, including a 56-42 shootout victory over Menasha. However, in Level 3 of the playoffs, West De Pere’s high-powered offense would be held in check, falling 24-14 to Menasha, a the Bluejays went on to claim a runner-up finish in Division 3. West De Pere has a coaching change this year, as Chris Greisen takes over for Jack Batten. He inherits a talented skill group that features two-time Bay Conference Offensive Player of the Year Josh Blount at quarterback along with second-leading rusher David Vandrlogt and leading receiver Aaron Wagner. Menasha has a few more holes to fill following the graduation of quarterback Cole Popp, 2000-yard rusher Tyler Roehl, top receiver Brady Jurgella, and four starting offensive linemen.

The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
