Below are the SportsEngine.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of September 21 through 27. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

SportsEngine.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Sep. 21-27

Maggie Craker, McDonell Central girls volleyball: Maggie was phenomenal as McDonell took home three victories this past week, dropping only one set. First in a 3-0 sweep of Fall Creek, she had 12 kills, 27 assists, 13 digs, two block, and two aces. She followed that up with 28 assists, four aces, four digs, and three kills in 3-0 win over Stanley-Boyd. Maggie who is a Division 1 volleyball commit to Western Illinois, finished the week with 29 assists, 10 kills, and 10 digs in a 3-1 victory over Baldwin-Woodville.

Maddy Bauer, Chippewa Falls girls volleyball: Maddy assisted her team to a pair of victories this past week, dominating from her setter position. First in a 3-1 win over Hudson, she had 44 assists. Maddy had another 41 assists as Chippewa Falls swept Stanley-Boyd 3-0.

Nigel Cheeks, Whitefish Bay football: Nigel was all over the field and scored in three different fashions as Whitefish Bay opened up their 2020 season with a 34-6 win over West Bend East. On the ground, he rushed 14 times for 115 yards and two scores. He also caught a 26 yard score through the air. To cap his night off, Nigel returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown to end the opener with four total scores.

Jonathan Diaz, Delavan-Darien boys soccer: Delavan has started the season 3-1 and with the play of Jonathan, went 2-0 last week. In a 6-2 win over Burlington, he netted himself three goals while assisting on another. In the second game of the week, Jonathan did a great job setting his teammates up for success as he had three assists in the 4-0 shutout of Union Grove.

Chris Ambrose, Kettle Moraine Lutheran boys soccer: Kettle Moraine Lutheran recorded two blowout wins this past week in East Central Conference play. First in a 10-0 blowout of Berlin, Chris netted four goals. He followed that up with another goal and added an assist in a 6-1 win over Winneconne.
