As part of the weekly preview I produce every Thursday showcasing the best games from around the state, I always highlight one contest as the Game of the Week. To expand on that, each week I'll post a poll where you -- the fans -- can vote for who you think will win the Game of the Week.

Lake Mills (1-0; D4 #2) at Mineral Point (1-0; D6 #2) -- Friday, 7 pm

This wasn't a game originally on the schedule, but when things got thrown upside-down with the move of some schools to the alternate spring option, these standout programs were able to get together. Both were among the top teams in their division last season, going out to very tough opponents in Level 3: Lake Mills fell to eventual Division 4 champion Catholic Memorial while Mineral Point lost a late lead against Mondovi. The teams had no problems in Week 1 of the 2020 season, as Lake Mills shutout Watertown Luther Prep, as record-setting quarterback Adam Moen had 231 yards and three scores through the air to go with 65 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Mineral Point blew out rival Dodgeville 47-12. Dominick McVay had a rushing, receiving, and kick return touchdown in that one. Both teams feature some outstanding offensive weapons, and if the weather is good, we could see some fireworks in Week 2.
