Tanner Marsh of Mondovi has been selected as the Week 1 Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. His big day helped the Buffaloes score a win over Osseo-Fairchild. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 1. A total of 6,173 votes were cast, as Marsh's 2,100 were enough to edge second place Alex Current of Muskego, who tallied 1,911 votes.

Mondovi had perhaps the best season in school history in 2019, advancing to the state semi-finals. The Buffaloes have to replace 15 starting spots from a year ago, but senior Tanner Marsh is one of the returnees. A two-time All-Conference choice who has gone over 1000 rushing yards each of the past two seasons, he opened with a huge Week 1 performance. In a 48-20 win over Osseo-Fairchild in the team's first game as a member of the Cloverbelt Conference, Marsh carried it 31 times for 321 yards and four touchdowns, with a pair of fourth quarter scores helping put the game away. He added three catches for 17 yards plus a sack and forced fumble on defense.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named WisSports.net Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 2 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
