Below are the SportsEngine.com Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of September 28 through October 4. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

SportsEngine.com Athlete of the Week Nominees: Sep. 27 - Oct. 4

Cora Behnke, Oconto girls volleyball: Oconto went 4-0 this past week, including winning a pair of matches at their home triangular over the weekend. First in a 3-0 sweep of Southern Door, Cora had 11 kills, seven digs, and two blocks. She followed that up with 17 kills and 22 digs in a 3-2 win over Kaukauna. Cora finished up the week by recording 15 kills and 15 digs as Oconto took down St. Mary Catholic and Southern Door at their home triangular.

Sam Naber, Burlington girls volleyball: Burlington has started red hot to the 2020 fall season, going 7-0 through the first three weeks of the season. Sam, a Marquette recruit, has led the way for the Demons. In a 3-0 sweep of Badger, Sam had a team high seven digs. She followed that up with 11 digs and a team high five service aces in a 3-0 win over Union Grove. Sam has helped Burlington to being ranked sixth in Division 1 in the WVCA Girls Volleyball midseason poll.

Austin Dahlke, Edgar football: Edgar squared off with Onalaska Friday night in what turned out to be a defensive showdown. The Wildcats held off the Hilltoppers 12-7 as Austin was all over the field on the defensive end. He flew from sideline to sideline, compiling 10 tackles and sacking the quarterback three times. He also added two interceptions, making plays all of the field. Offensively, he did add 45 rushing yards on 18 carries.

Johan Lopez, Baraboo boys soccer: Johan was fantastic as Baraboo went 2-0-1 this past week. First in a 6-1 win over Lake Mills, he netted four goals and added an assist. Johan followed that up with five goals in a 9-1 win over Poynette/Portage. To finish the week off, Johan netted two goals, both in the second half, to en route to a 2-2 tie with Edgewood. On the week he had 11 goals and one assist.

Zach Nye, River Falls boys soccer: River Falls squared off with Menomonie in a pair of matches this past week and outscored them 17-0 combined. Zach was phenomenal, accounting for six goals and four assists. In the first 9-0 win, he had two goals and two assists. Zach followed it up with four goals and two assists in an 8-0 win.
