Week 2 WisSports.net Football Coaches Poll
Week 1 WisSports.net Football Coaches Poll

Please note, divisional placement in our poll is based on our Enrollment Projections done earlier this year. Divisional placement in the WIAA playoffs is not determined until after the season and these projections can and will be different than the divisions at the end of the year.

Division 1

Not a ton of changes in this week's Division 1 Coaches Poll, where Muskego is once again the heavy favorite. Arrowhead did slide ahead of Marquette for the number three spot, however. Chippewa Falls' second loss of the year, this time against Menomonie, dropped the Cardinals from seventh to tenth, as several other teams moved up slightly.

Division 2

Menomonee Falls stayed unbeaten and the clear number one team in Division 2 this week. Burlington slid ahead of Brookfield Central for the second spot. Defending champion Brookfield East went down for a second time this year, as the Spartans are just 1-2, and they drop all the way from fourth to unranked this week. Kaukauan makes a big jump from seventh to fourth. West De Pere, who plays against Xavier this week in its first game since a season-opening loss to Hortonville, is new to the rankings in the ten spot.

Division 3

Another week, another batch of changes in Division 3. Whitefish Bay at the top has been the one constant this season. However, Grafton suffered its first loss of the year at the hands of Catholic Memorial and drops one spot to third, as Medford leap-frogs into the number two position. Onalaska's second loss, this time against Saint Croix Central, dropped the Hilltoppers from fifth to eighth.

Division 4

Division 4 continues to be perhaps the deepest division in the state, with defending champion Catholic Memorial again the clear top team. The only change in the top five finds Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian dropping from fifth to eighth after suffering its first loss (though without prolific quarterback Robby Michael). Losses by Northwestern and Little Chute tumble those teams out of the poll, as Martin Luther and River Valley enter the rankings at number nine and ten, respectively.

Division 5

Lake Country Lutheran holds onto the top spot in Division 5, but Amherst has closed the gap after the Falcons topped former number three team Stratford last week in the WSN Game of the Week. The loss dropped Stratford from third to fifth. Spencer/Columbus Catholic's second loss on the year caused them to fall out of the poll, along with Southern Door. New this week are Marshall and Stanley-Boyd.

Division 6

Regis is the dominant team at the top of Division 6 once again. Mineral Point stays at number two despite having to cancel last week's game. Another top team, Darlington, suffered its first loss of the year and drops from third to sixth. Mondovi is just 2-2 on the year, but the losses have come against number one Regis and number three Durand, as the Buffaloes narrowly remain in the rankings at number ten this week.

Division 7

Edgar again dominates the Division 7 rankings, with Lourdes in the number two spot. Potosi/Cassville lost a close one against Highland, and the Chieftains drop from third to seventh this week. Meanwhile, Highland moves up two spots to third. Reedsville jumps into the top five this week. Turtle Lake's first loss of the year causes the Lakers to fall out of the rankings, with unbeaten Assumption moving in at number ten.

8-Player

Luck remains the top-ranked team in 8-Player Football, with Newman Catholic, Belmont, Gilman, and Auburndale again rounding out the top five. McDonell Central suffered its first loss of the year at the hands of Gilman and dropped from sixth to seventh. Wabeno/Laona and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah drop out this week, as Florence and Greenwood move into the rankings.
