Week 5 Prep Props: State's Top Performances

Prep Props is our weekly look at the best individual statistical performances in the state, with the leaders in rushing yards, passing yards, and receiving yards. Prep Props is published every Monday morning.

Week 5 Rushing Leaders

Marquette couldn't get out of its own way at times in Saturday's 31-14 win over Sussex Hamilton, turning the ball over four times. However, when they did hang onto it, they amassed some impressive offensive numbers. The Hilltoppers put up 674 yards of total offense in the game, including 391 yards on the ground. 5'11", 242-pound senior running back Patrick Daniels did most of the damage, carrying the ball 41 times for 283 yards and two touchdowns. He also completed a 26-yard pass on his only attempt.

Week 5 Passing Leaders

Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian junior quarterback Robby Michael was missed considerably in a Week 4 blowout loss against Brillion, but he returned with a vengeance in Week 5. In a 51-18 victory over Valders, he completed 19-of-28 passes for 373 yards and six touchdowns. Michael added 68 yards and one score on the ground as well, plus seven tackles on defense and an interception. Despite missing a game, Michael leads the state in passing yards by more than 300 over the next closest player, averaging 396.8 yards per game. He also leads the state with 21 passing touchdowns.

Week 5 Receiving Leaders

Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian junior receiver Colin Girdaukas continues to put up receiving numbers at a historic rate. In a 51-18 win against Valders in Week 5, Girdaukas caught 11 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns, adding a pair of rush attempts for 15 yards plus 11 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble on defense. Through five games he has caught 40 passes for 1,099 yards and 12 touchdowns.
