The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts have been selected as the Week 5 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team rallied to take down Potosi/Cassville in a battle of top-ranked squads. The Ghosts were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 5. A total of 5,332 votes were cast, as Kaukauna's 1,706 votes edged West De Pere's 1,323 votes.
Kaukauna and D.C. Everest picked up a game last week, but the showdown of unbeaten teams ended up a one-sided affair, as Kaukauna shutout the Evergreens 32-0. The defensive performance was especially impressive, as Everest had been averaging nearly 34 points per game coming in. Kaukauna quarterback Gannon Demler threw for 160 yards and a couple scores in the game, as Kaukauna moves to 4-0.
Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 6 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
