VNN Athlete of the Week: Joe Schmidt, Brookfield Academy
Brookfield Academy senior Joe Schmidt has been selected as the VNN Athlete of the Week after a vote on WisSports.net
There were 7,945 total votes this week. Joe topped all vote getters with 2,362 votes. Whitewater's Ella Houwers came in second with 2,079 votes.
Brookfield Academy football: Joe and Brookfield Academy found themselves in a shootout with Cedar Grove-Belgium and needed all of the record-breaking performance of Joe. He hauled in 13 catches for 190 yards and tied the state record with six touchdown catches as Brookfield Academy won 53-48. Joe added seven tackles defensively.
