VNN Athlete of the Week: November 16-22

Below are the VNN Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of November 16 through 22. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

VNN Athlete of the Week Nominees: Nov. 16-22

C.J. Boyd, University School football: C.J. was all over the field on both sides of the ball as the University School took down Racine St. Catherine's 30-28 in WIAA Level 2 action last week. Offensively he carried the ball 14 times for 185 yards, including three touchdowns from 15, 41, and 52 yards. On the defensive side, he led the team with 15 tackles.

Austin Dahlke, Edgar football: Edgar finished off a perfect 9-0 season by handing previously undefeated Iola-Scandinavia its first loss in a 56-8 blow out. Austin did a little bit of everything for the Wildcats, rushing 19 times for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Austin had eight tackles and a sack and added another score, returning an interception 49 yards for a touchdown.

Drew Mears, Fox Valley Lutheran football: Drew had the most impressive day passing in Level 2 last week as Fox Valley Lutheran took down Kewaskum 35-14. Drew, just a junior, completed 24 of his 39 pass attempts for 381 yards and five touchdowns. His passing yards and touchdowns led the state in Level 2.

Michael Skemp, Onalaska football: Onalaska finished their season by handing Baraboo their second loss of the season in a 50-26 victory. Michael was close to uncoverable at the wide receiver position. He hauled in seven catches for 138 yards, averaging 19.7 yards per catch. He caught touchdown passes of 11 and 40 yards on the day.

Tristan Schelvan, Amherst football: In a 48-14 win over Brillion, Tristan was incredible, accounting for all seven touchdowns. He completed 20 of 25 passes (80% completion percentage) for 178 yards and three touchdowns. He added 126 rushing yards and three more scores on 18 carries. Additionally Tristan started off the scoring of the night with a 70 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
