VNN Athlete of the Week: November 23-29

Below are the VNN Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of November 23 through 29. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

VNN Athlete of the Week Nominees: Nov. 23-29

Jaelyn Acker, Germantown girls basketball: Germantown began the season 3-0 last week and Jaelyn was a catalyst for the strong start. On opening night she didn't have to do much in an 84-27 win over Wauwatosa West, finishing with six points and three steals. Germantown then traveled to Brookfield Central for the Thanksgiving Shootout. In the first matchup against Kettle Moraine, Jaelyn had 27 points, 12 rebounds, and six steals in the 92-75 win. She followed it up with 15 points and seven steals in an 85-40 throttling over Pius XI.

Kiley Deaton, Wausau West girls basketball: Kiley began the 2020-21 season with a bang, scoring 56 points in her first two contests. First in a 63-35 win over Rhinelander, she had 20 points and eight rebounds. Kiley then upped her game in an 81-64 shootout win over Lakeland. She filled the stat sheet with 36 points, 15 rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

Kylie Lemberger, New Berlin Eisenhower girls basketball: IKE started off the season with a 57-46 crosstown win over New Berlin West. Kylie led all scorers with 20 points and added two assists in the win. Kylie followed that up with 28 points and seven rebounds in a tight 64-60 win over Arrowhead at the Brookfield Central Thanksgiving Shootout.

Sydney Lurvey, Three Lakes girls basketball: Sydney is coming off a junior season in which she averaged nearly 15 points for the Three Lakes girls basketball team. In the first game of the season against Northland Pines, Sydney filled the stat sheet up. She had a game high 22 points and added seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals in the opening 76-54 victory.

Chloe Van Zeeland, Kaukauna girls basketball: Chloe scored from all over the court for Kaukauna as they bested Appleton West 69-53 in the opening week of girls basketball. She scored a game high 34 points while added nine rebounds and four steals in the process. Her 34 points helped Chloe cross the 1,000 point mark in her high school career.
