VNN Athlete of the Week: December 7-13

Below are the VNN Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of December 7 through 13. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

VNN Athlete of the Week Nominees: Dec. 7-13

Adam Larson, Fennimore boys basketball: Larson came one rebound shy of a pair of double-doubles this past week as Fennimore picked up a pair of SWAL conference victories. First in a 68-44 win over Boscobel, he tallied 32 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, four steals, and two blocks. The lengthy senior followed that up with 17 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocks as the Golden Eagles blew out Riverdale.

Kamari McGee, Racine St. Catherine's boys basketball: McGee was extremely efficient and all over the court last week as the Angels collected three victories. First in a 78-41 win over Racine Lutheran, McGee had 16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. He then recorded 17 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a tight 56-52 win over Catholic Memorial. The senior standout finished the week with 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in another tight 58-55 win over Martin Luther. Over those three games he shot 20 of 29 (69%) from the field.

Jordan Meulemans, De Pere girls basketball: De Pere picked up a trio of victories this past week, behind the strong play of Meulemans. She tallied 21 points as the Redbirds throttled Ashwaubenon 72-28. The crafty guard followed that up with 29 points in a 75-49 win over Division 3, eighth-ranked Wrightstown. She finished the week with 19 points as De Pere topped Division 2, fourth-ranked West De Pere 63-56.

Tieryn Plasch, Northwestern girls basketball: Plasch was proficient as the Tigers took home a pair of double digit, Heart O'North conference wins. First in a 74-30 win over Spooner, she had 17 points, four steals, and three assists. The 5'6" sophomore then came one rebound short of a double-double, tallying 26 points, nine rebounds, and four steals in a 61-45 triumph over Ladysmith.

Grace Grocholski, Kettle Moraine girls basketball: Grocholski has put together an impressive start to her sophomore season, helping the Lasers to a 5-1 record, including two wins this past week. In a 60-39 win over Muskego, she had 17 points. The talented sophomore then finished with a game high 33 points as Kettle Moraine blew past Brookfield East 76-48.
