Beaver Dam senior Nate Abel has been selected as the VNN Athlete of the Week after a vote on WisSports.net

There were 4,587 total votes this week. Abel topped all vote getters with 1,831 votes. St. Croix Fall's Olivia Miron came in second with 1,700 votes.

Beaver Dam has started the season off 9-0 behind the strong play of Abel. Last week, the Golden Beavers picked up a 79-75 win over Oshkosh North and needed every bit of Abel's 41 points in the process.

The Golden Beavers have picked up a pair of victories this week over DeForest and Waunakee and in each, Abel led all scoring. In the 73-65 win over DeForest, he scored a game high 37 points and followed it up with 26 in the 65-61 victory over Waunakee
