Here are the Wisconsin Sports Network weekly award winners in boys' basketball for the games played January 11 through January 16:

Player of the Week

Will Boser

Will Boser, 6-4, Jr., G, Eau Claire Memorial
Playing alongside older brother Caden Boser a year ago, Will Boser came off the bench to average a modest 3.0 ppg for an Eau Claire Memorial squad that went 9-14. With Caden now playing at NCAA Division I Kansas City, Will has blossomed as a junior. He is averaging 20.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists and helped the Old Abes to wins over Holmen, La Crosse Logan and D.C. Everest last week. He had 18 points and three baskets from three-point range in a 55-51 win over Holmen last Tuesday. On Friday, he scored a career-best 28 points and buried five triples as Memorial defeated Logan 67-47. He also had five rebounds, four assists and three steals in the contest. On Saturday, Boser scored 27 points as the Old Abes knocked off Wisconsin Valley Conference-leading D.C. Everest 76-72.

Team of the Week

Gavin McGrath

Onalaska Hilltoppers
Onalaska put on a defensive clinic Saturday at the annual Midwest Players Classic at the La Crosse Center. Playing a Menomonee Falls squad came into the contest 9-2 and features two of the top five juniors in the state in Seth Trimble (6-2) and Steven Clay (6-5), Onalaska emerged with a 48-43 victory while holding Trimble to just six points (20 below his average) and Clay to one three-point basket (17 below his average). The victory was the eighth in a row to start the season for coach Craig Kowal's squad. Earlier in the week, the Hilltoppers defeated Chippewa Falls 65-42 and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln 65-38. North Dakota recruit Gavin McGrath (6-11) leads Onalaska in scoring (13.6 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg) while four-year varsity performer Sam Kick (6-3) contributes 9.2 ppg and 3.4 rpg. Defensive specialist Victor Desmond (6-7) adds 9.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg and 3.0 apg.

Coach of the Week

Brenden Weis

Matt Bredesen, Janesville Parker
The upstart Vikings of Janesville Parker knocked off two previously undefeated teams last week with victories over Beaver Dam (69-56) and Monroe (67-62 in double overtime). The two triumphs improved the Vikings mark to 11-4 under third-year coach Matt Bredesen. It also surpassed the combined total of 10 victories the program had achieved over the last four seasons. Parker is well on its way to its first winning season since 2001-02 thanks to an experienced blend of perimeter toughness and skill, and a vastly improved interior. Versatile senior Brenden Weis (6-6) leads the way for Parker by averaging 16.3 points and 5.0 rebounds. He can handle the ball on the perimeter, attacked the basket and get to the foul line. Senior wing Robert DeLong (6-0) is one of the top three-point shooters in south central Wisconsin and contributes 16.2 ppg and 4.8 rpg while emerging junior forward Jacob Nabor (6-7) adds 10.4 ppg and 7.7 rpg. Do-everything senior forward Matthew Hartwig (6-3) does a lot of the dirty work for the Vikings while also contributing 7.7 ppg and 7.2 rpg and unselfish senior guard Ethan Thompson (5-10) adds 7.5 ppg and a team-best 3.3 apg. Parker owns a city victory over Janesville Craig and returns to action this week against DeForest (Tuesday) and Watertown Luther Prep (Thursday).
