Kaukauna's Chloe Van Zeeland has been selected as the top senior post player as part of WSN Basketball Awards

Van Zeeland is a versatile forward who can score in a number of ways, including from the perimeter. Defensively, she has the length and athleticism to get steals and block or alter shots, and is also a very good rebounder.

The 6-foot-2 Illinois State signee averaged 15.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.6 blocks per game for coach Joe Russom and the Galloping Ghosts.

Van Zeeland shot 61.2 percent from the floor, 73.3 percent from the line, and went 26-for-55 from behind the arc.

Kaukauna finished the year with a 17-8 record. The Galloping Ghosts lost to FVA foe Kimberly, the top-ranked team in D1, 79-61 in a regional semifinal.

Van Zeeland finishes her career with over 1,300 points, 600-plus rebounds, and nearly 200 steals.

Finalists for the award were Van Zeeland, Chloe Dallas of Wauwatosa East, Morgann Gardner of Racine Lutheran, Audrey Hatfield of Hudson, Anna Lutz of Marshall, and Alyssa Nimz of Catholic Memorial.

Past winners of the award include Macy McGlone of Hortonville (2020), Sydnee Roby of Milwaukee King (2019), Caitlyn Harper of Arrowhead (2018), Sidney Cooks of Kenosha St. Joseph (2017), Grace Mueller of Verona (2016), Megan Gustafson of South Shore (2015), Jessica Lindstrom of Superior (2014), Breanna Lewis of Milwaukee Riverside (2013), and Heather Bowe of Regis (2012).
