Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The finalists for the top senior post award have been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament.

Carter Capstran, 6-6, Sr., Franklin
An exceptionally hard working post player who loves to play with his back to the basket, Capstran has been very productive for one of the state's better teams. The four-year varsity performer, who has scored more than 1,300 career points, is turning in his best season as a senior as he is averaging 16.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Franklin takes a 22-5 record into today's WIAA Division 1 sectional final against Wauwatosa East in large part because of Capstran's consistent play in the post.

Jackson Dudek, 6-7, Sr., Kimberly
A vastly improved interior player, Dudek used hard work in the off season to develop into a stellar performer for one of the state's elite programs. Dudek did not play many minutes as a junior and averaged just 1.5 ppg and 0.6 rpg. But he has put up some impressive numbers for coach Lucky Wurtz and the Papermakers in 2020-21, averaging 11.5 ppg and 4.9 rpg for a team that is 23-2 entering today's WIAA Division 1 sectional final against Menomonee Falls. Dudek, who has committed to NCAA Division II Northern Michigan, is shooting 76 percent from the field and 73 percent from the foul line.

David Joplin, 6-7, Sr., Brookfield Central
Joplin plays in the post, but he also spends a lot of time roaming the perimeter and making shots facing the basket. Still, if you need a basket and want a high percentage shot in the lane, Joplin is tough to stop and might be the best option in the state. The four-year varsity performer and Texas recruit averaged 25.6 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.9 blocked shots while helping the Lancers to a 19-6 record under coach Dan Wandrey. Joplin finished his prep career with 1,929 points and 662 rebounds.

Cade Meyer, 6-8, Sr., Monroe
The Green Bay recruit scored just over 1,000 career points and helped Monroe to a 16-2 record this winter by averaging 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. A good athlete who can finish above the rim or step outside and make mid-range jump shots, Meyer netted a season-best 29 points while also hauling down 11 rebounds in a victory over New Glarus. An extremely unselfish player who looks for cutters and delivers accurate passes, Meyer's best basketball appears to be ahead of him as he continues to fill out and grow into his body.

Gavin McGrath, 6-11, Sr., Onalaska
Onalaska coach Craig Kowal was looking for more production out of his 6-foot-11 senior post player when the season began and that's exactly what McGrath has delivered. The NCAA Division I recruit for North Dakota is averaging 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds after averaging 6.0 points and 7.0 rebounds a year ago. More importantly, McGrath clogs the lane and keeps opponents away from the basket, assets that have helped the Hilltoppers to an 18-0 record entering the WIAA Division 2 State Tournament next week.
