Julianna Wagner, Lake Mills girls basketball: Last year Wagner led Lake Mills to its first ever state tournament, only to have it end horribly with an ACL tear in the semi-final game. In the 70-60 semi-final win over Howards Grove, Wagner had 18 points, five rebounds and four assists. The resilient senior followed that up with 12 points and three rebounds in the 78-67 victory over previously unbeaten Aquinas.

Kylie Schmidt, Mishicot girls basketball: For the second consecutive season and only the second time in school history, the Mishicot girls basketball team competed at the WIAA State Tournament. Schmidt was firing on all cylinders on Friday. First in the 55-30 semi-final win over Fall Creek, she recorded 11 points and seven rebounds. The Division 2 Purdue-Northwest commit saved her best performance for last as Mishicot held off Mineral Point 70-66 in the championship game. Schmidt had 27 points and 13 rebounds as she led the team to its first-ever gold ball.
