WBCA announces Division 3 Girls Basketball All-State Team

The 2021 WBCA Division 3 all-state team features three repeat selections: Callie Genke of Freedom, Lily Krahn of Prairie du Chien, and Isabella Lenz of Prescott. 

Genke is a three-time selection and led Freedom (25-2) to a Division 2 sectional final, falling to state champion Notre Dame. The 6-foot UW-Green Bay signee averaged 16.4 points per game while shooting 60-for-123 from 3-point land, to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest for coach Mike Vander Loop and the Irish. 

Krahn is a two-time WBCA all-state pick. She led Prairie du Chien (17-3) to a sectional appearance, dropping a 57-56 contest against eventual state champion Lake Mills. The 5-foot-10 junior guard averaged 20.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.8 steals per game for coach Paula Shedivy and the Blackhawks. Krahn also connected on 58 of 149 from behind the arc. 

Lenz led Prescott to an 18-3 record and regional final appearance, falling to D3 state runner-up Aquinas. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 21 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.8 steals per contest for coach Rob Radloff and the Cardinals. The Michigan Tech signee also shot 48-for-126 from 3-point land.

Abbie Aalsma led Waupun to a 18-4 record and Division 2 regional final appearance, falling to state runner-up Reedsburg. The 5-foot-9 Illinois State commit averaged 19.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game for coach and father Tim Aalsma. Abbie also shot 74-for-184 on three-pointers. 

Vivian Guerrero helped lead Lake Mills (25-2) to the program's first state title in program history, defeating Aquinas in the title game. The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 12.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals per contest for coach Brandon Siska and the L-Cats. 

Gabby Johnson, an honorable mention pick last season, helped lead Freedom to a 25-2 record and sectional appearance. The 5-foot-9 point guard averaged 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game for coach Vander Loop and the Irish. Johnson is signed to play at the University of St. Thomas. 

Leah Lemke led Wrightstown (18-6) to a sectional appearance. The 5-foot-8 guard averaged 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 3.0 steals per game for coach Otto Sukow and the Tigers. 

Alyssa Nimz led Catholic Memorial to a 17-8 record. The Crusaders dropped a 70-65 contest against state qualifier New Berlin Eisenhower in a Division 2 regional semifinal. The 6-foot-1 Northern Michigan signee averaged 20.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.1 steals and 2.1 blocks per contest for coach Nikki Nellen and the Crusaders. 

Taylor Roughen helped lead Lake Mills to the Division 3 state title, its first in program history. The 5-foot-6 guard averaged 13.1 points per game with 56 three-pointers made, to go along with 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals per contest for coach Siska and the L-Cats. 

Grace Schmidt of Watertown Luther Prep takes home first-team honors after earning honorable mention all-state as a sophomore. The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 25.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game for coach Mark Schroeder and the Phoenix, which finished the year with a 10-6 record.
