Chippewa Falls' Joe Reuter selected as state's top senior shooter

Joe Reuter of Chippewa Falls has been selected as the top senior Shooter as part of the WSN Senior Basketball Awards

A wing guard with outstanding size (6-5) and physical strength, Reuter did it all for Chippewa Falls as a senior. The Player of the Year in the Big Rivers Conference led the league in scoring (25.8 ppg) and assists (5.7 apg) while ranking second in rebounding (8.3 rpg).   

The four-year varsity player shot 52 percent from the field, 92 percent from the foul line and 42 percent (56 of 134) from three-point range. 

He scored a career-high 44 points in a 79-77 victory at Tomah while making 15-of-21 shots from the field, all nine of his foul shots and connecting on five-of-eight attempts outside the three-point arc. He also had 10 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocked shots in the game. 

The NCAA Division II recruit for Hillsdale College in Michigan helped Chippewa Falls to a 13-10 record under coach Jason Proue and finished his high school career with 1,220 points.

Finalists for the award were Reuter, Joey Berezowitz of Burlington, Zac Johnson of River Falls, Adam Larson of Fennimore and Mason Dopirak of Manitowoc Lincoln. 

Past winners of the award include Aidan Clarey of Brookfield Academy (2020), Henry Noone of Lourdes Academy (2019), Drew Blair of Stevens Point (2018), Ryan Krueger of Hortonville (2017), Trev Anderson of Stevens Point (2016), Brevin Pritzl of De Pere (2015), Brady Ellingson of Sussex Hamilton (2014), Matt Thomas of Onalaska (2013), and Tyson Kalien of Chippewa Falls (2012).
