Week 2 Rushing Leaders

There was no shortage of offense in Appleton North's 38-31 win over Ashwaubenon on Thursday, as the teams combined for more than 900 yards. Appleton North got a big game from junior running back Cal Martini, who carrie the ball 28 times for 238 yards and three touchdowns. He opened the scoring with a two-yard touchdown plunge, and his 76-yard touchdown run in the third quarter put the Lightning up for good.

Week 2 Passing Leaders

New Glarus/Monticello moved to 2-0 on the season with a 34-7 win over Poynette on Thursday in another high-powered offensive showing. Senior quarterback Darris Schuett had a huge game, completing 25-of-44 passes for 407 yards and four touchdowns. Most of the damage came in the first half as the co-op program built a 28-0 halftime advantage in part to Schuett's three passing touchdowns and one rushing score. After two weeks, Schuett leads the state in passing touchdowns and passing yards.

Week 2 Receiving Leaders

New Glarus/Monticello has the state's most prolific passing attack in the early part of the season, and it was on display in a big way in a 34-7 win over Poynette last Thursday. Senior Nathan Streiff caught 12 passes for 187 yards and a pair of scores in the victory. Through two weeks, he leads the state in receptions and receiving yards.
