The Parkview/Albany Vikings have been selected as the Week 2 WSN Spring Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored an impressive road victory at Deerfield. The Vikings were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 2,806 votes were cast, as Parkview/Albany's 1,022 votes edged Superior's 751 votes.

Parkview/Albany went on the road and raced out to a 32-0 fourth quarter lead on host Deerfield before cruising home to a 32-16 victory. The team's running game was the stretch, accounting for 341 yards and six touchdowns on 52 carries. Korben Brown did the bulk of the damage, running for 188 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 11.1 yards per carry. Gauge Pomplun also had an interception return touchdown (and three total interceptions in the game) for the co-op program, who evens its record at 1-1 ahead of next week's showdown against New Glarus/Monticello.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
