MILWAUKEE - Pair of unbeatens Appleton North and Laconia headline the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association Spring Coaches Poll, taking home Division 1 and Division 2 honors, respectively.

Division 1

Appleton North leads a Division 1 field with several local installments, as the Fox Valley Association and Fox River Classic Conference dominated the top five spots in the Spring Poll. The Lightning won a big head-to-head matchup with Oshkosh West, which enters at No. 2.

No. 3 De Pere, which dropped a five-setter to FRCC frontrunner and No. 5 Manitowoc Lincoln,  knocked off No. 4 Kimberly the following week.

Unbeaten Whitewater climbed to No. 6 in the Spring poll, dropping only three sets so far in its nine matches. Two of the Whippets' set losses came at the hands of No. 8 McFarland, with Badger Conference frontrunner Fort Atkinson holding the No. 7 spot.

Verona, which officially shut down its season late last week, had earned the No. 9 spot, just ahead of Big Eight foe and No. 10 Sun Prairie.

Holmen, DeForest, Sheboygan North, Waunakee, and Edgerton each claimed Division 1 Honorable Mentions.

Division 2

Despite a long layoff, No. 1 Laconia is off to another incredible start this season, knocking off Flyway rival and No. 3 Saint Mary's Springs to clinch at least a share of its second straight conference crown.

Battle-tested Brodhead claims the No. 2 spot, with two of its three losses coming to Rock Valley juggernauts Whitewater and McFarland. Despite its geographical isolation, No. 4 Washburn has shown incredible dominance this Spring with a 12-0 match record.

The Scenic Bluffs Conference race has been wild all season, with No. 5 Royall leading the pack. The Panthers' two losses this season came to No. 9 Wonewoc-Center and No. 10 Bangor, with fellow SBC foe Cashton earning an HM nod for a very strong league showing in Division 2.

No. 6 Cuba City has battled to yet another strong showing this season, while Packerland rivals No. 7 Sturgeon Bay and No. 8 Sevastopol put on quite a show in the two teams' recent five-setter that fell the Clippers' way.

Gresham, Riverdale, aforementioned Cashton, Princeton/Green Lake, and South Shore rounded out the Division 2 Honorable Mentions.
