WisSports.net Week 4 Player of the Week Nominees

Luke Elkin, Neenah

It was a thriller Friday night as Neenah took down Bay Port 21-20 in overtime. Bay Port scored first in the overtime period and kicked the extra point, but Neenah answered, as quarterback Luke Elkin scored on a one-yard plunge. The Rockets eschewed the tie and went for the win, as Elkin hit Chase Hanselman for the successful two-point conversion and the victory. Elkin completed 14-of-26 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns, adding 15 carries for 107 yards and a score on the ground as well.

Lucas Milz, Black Hawk/Warren

A back-and-forth affair in the first half turned into mostly a stalemate after halftime, except for a one-yard touchdown run by Lucas Milz of Black Hawk/Warren that proved to the game-winner with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter. Trailing 22-20 against Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg, the Black Hawk/Warren co-op rallied for a 26-20 win as Milz's score provided the final margin. He finished with 13 carries for a team-high 64 yards and one touchdown, adding two catches for 34 yards and a score through the air. The talented sophomore also led the team with 11 tackles on defense.

Connor Ramage, Ashwaubenon

Ashwaubenon has struggled the last couple weeks after losing multi-year starting quarterback Cadian Vang to a season-ending injury. The team didn't need to throw it much on Friday, however, as senior running back Connor Ramage carried the load in a 40-29 win over Oshkosh North. Ramage racked up 364 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries, as he easily eclipsed his previous career-high of 177 yards set just two weeks ago.

Jesse Weber, Lomira

It was truly a team effort to hold off Saint Mary's Spring 14-12 on Friday in a huge Flyway Conference showdown, but Jesse Weber certainly played a big role throughout. The senior scored the game's first touchdown on a 31-yard cutback run to put Lomira up 7-0 in the first quarter. The Lions would score again to go up 14-0 at halftime, then held on for dear life after struggling offensively in the second half to secure the victory. In addition to nine carries for 71 yards and that score on offense, Weber's 12 tackles on defense shared game-high honors with fellow senior Avery Johnson.

Gabe Zielinski, Pius XI Catholic

Pius XI Catholic scored its first win of the season, taking down Shorewood/Messmer 42-8 in a Woodland-Red Conference game. Senior quarterback Gabe Zielinski had a huge game, amassing 353 yards of total offense. He completed eight-of-11 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns through the air, adding 122 yards and a rushing score on just five attempts. It is Pius' first win since way back in early September of 2019.
