While last year's high school baseball season was canceled, the Viroqua senior Babe Ruth team took advantage of the summer period, playing 72 games last year. That extra time on the baseball field plus a solid returning group that was part of a Coulee Conference championship in 2019 is a big reason the Blackhawks and longtime head coach Pete Swanson are favorites in the Baseball Wisconsin Yearbook Pre-Season Division 3 Rankings.

Rounding out the top five are Regis, Mineral Point, Markesan, and Aquinas.

Below are the preseason spring baseball rankings courtesy of the Baseball Wisconsin Yearbook. The 2021 book is the 29th edition, 214 pages in length and in full color. Written and edited by Joe Waite and Chris Lavold, it features a season breakdown for every high school and college program in the state.
