The Oshkosh West Wildcats have been selected as the Week 6 WSN Spring Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WSN. The team scored an impressive win over crosstown rival Oshkosh North last Friday. The Wildcats were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 6. A total of 3,033 votes were cast, as Oshkosh West's 1,043 votes edged Sun Prairie's 881 votes.

Oshkosh West has taken advantage of this spring season and the redesigned Fox Valley Classic Conference to make some nice steps forward as a program. The Wildcats continued to march forward with a 49-22 win over crosstown rival Oshkosh North. West led 42-6 at halftime and 49-6 heading into the fourth quarter in a dominating victory. A balanced rushing attack averaged nine yards per attempt with five touchdowns on the ground, as no single player had more than 72 yards. David Kohl completed three-of-four passes for 95 yards and a touchdowns, adding two scores on the ground. Max Pieterick had an interception, forced fumble, and fumble recovery on defense.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 7 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
