WISSPORTS.NET FINAL SPRING FOOTBALL COACHES POLL: 8-Player

1. Wisconsin Heights

Wisconsin Heights finished as the lone unbeaten team in the spring 8-player season, going a perfect 4-0. They won a nail-biter against Oakfield to open the season, then dominated Wonewoc/Weston, Kickapoo/La Farge, and North Crawford. Hunter Walz threw for 14 touchdowns and added four on the ground, as the offense put up big numbers.

2. Oakfield

Oakfield played a number of close games in the 2021 spring season, including four decided by six points or less. They fared well in those, finishing with just one loss, coming in the very first game fo the year against Wisconsin Heights. They'd go on to beat both Sturgeon Bay and Chequamegon, teams that also finished in the rankings.

3. Sturgeon Bay

Strugeon Bay made a late move to 8-player in 2019, and it didn't go well, as they were 0-4 with all blowout losses. The Clippers turned things around in a big way in this spring season, going 4-1, with the lone loss a competitive one against Oakfield.

4. Wonewoc/Weston

Wonewoc/Weston opened this wild 2021 spring season with a wild win over North Crawford that saw the Silver Wolves give up more than 600 yards rushing to the Trojans, but still claim a 54-52 victory behind 525 yards of offense and a late kickoff return touchdown. Hunter Schmitt led the team in passing and rushing, accounting for 20 touchdowns.

5. Chequamegon

Chequamegon had to cancel its last game of the season, but went a solid 2-2, with losses to Sturgeon Bay to open the season and Oakfield to close it. In between, the Screaming Eagles beat Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Oneida/Providence and Sevastopol.
